Homes around Chevy Chase ask a lot from their heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems. Between humid summers, winter cold snaps, and a mix of older houses near Chevy Chase Circle and newer updates around Connecticut Avenue, small problems can turn into bigger ones fast. Beacon Home Services helps homeowners in Chevy Chase with HVAC service, plumbing repairs, and electrical work that fits the needs of homes in Montgomery County, Maryland.

We know many homes in this part of the county deal with aging pipes, older wiring, and equipment that has to keep up with changing seasons. If you are comparing help in nearby areas, we also work with homeowners in Bethesda and Montgomery Village. Schedule same-day service and get help from a licensed team that knows what Chevy Chase homes deal with.

Heating & Cooling Services

Chevy Chase summers are hot and humid, and winter cold snaps still put real pressure on furnaces, heat pumps, and thermostats. In older homes near neighborhoods like Chevy Chase Village and Martin’s Additions, comfort issues often come down to aging equipment, airflow problems, or systems that were never sized for later renovations.

Homeowners often ask what affects the cost of HVAC work here. It usually comes down to the age of the system, access to equipment, whether the issue is with the furnace, AC, or thermostat, and whether repair still makes sense compared with replacement. If your AC is running but not cooling, or your heat cuts in and out during colder weather, a quick inspection can usually narrow down the problem.

  • For uneven cooling, noisy equipment, or an AC that will not keep up, we can help with air conditioning repair and system troubleshooting.

  • If your heating system is unreliable during winter, we handle furnace and heat pump service to restore steady indoor comfort.

  • Homes with older equipment or repeated breakdowns may benefit from heating repair or replacement planning based on the house layout and current demand.

  • Seasonal AC tune-ups help catch wear before summer heat waves put more strain on the system.

HVAC issues in Chevy Chase are often easier to fix when they are caught early. A system that short cycles, struggles to cool below the mid-70s, or suddenly drives up energy use is usually telling you something is off.

Plumbing Services

Plumbing problems in Chevy Chase often tie back to older piping, hard water scale, and winter freeze exposure around exterior walls, crawl spaces, and hose bibs. In established neighborhoods near Wisconsin Avenue and East-West Highway, homes may have a mix of original plumbing and later updates, which can make leak tracing and repairs more important than they first appear.

  • Recurring backups and slow fixtures often need professional drain cleaning to get water moving properly again.

  • Homes with inconsistent hot water may need water heater repair or replacement, especially where sediment buildup has shortened tank life.

  • Pipe leaks under sinks, behind walls, or near older supply lines should be addressed quickly to limit water damage.

  • Outdoor faucets and exposed plumbing benefit from inspection after winter freezes and before spring rain picks up.

Plumbing work can take anywhere from a short repair visit to a larger replacement, depending on access, the age of the materials, and whether water damage is already present. If you have a leak that keeps returning or drains that clog again soon after clearing, it is usually a sign the root cause has not been fully handled.

Electrical Services

Electrical systems in Chevy Chase homes often show their age when modern appliances, EV chargers, home offices, or updated kitchens place more demand on older wiring and panels. Summer storms, humidity, and winter outage conditions can also expose weak connections, worn outlets, or grounding issues.

  • Frequent breaker trips can point to overloaded circuits, failing breakers, or a panel that no longer fits the home’s needs.

  • Older outlets, missing GFCI protection, and worn switches are common updates in established Chevy Chase homes.

  • Lighting and fixture installs can improve function in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and outdoor spaces.

  • Panel upgrades and electrical inspections are often the next step when a home is being renovated or adding major appliances.

Electrical problems are not good DIY projects when safety is in question. If you smell burning, hear buzzing, or notice repeated power loss in part of the house, it is best to stop using that circuit and have it checked by a licensed electrician.

About Beacon Home Services
Pat Wms
Warm competent friendly. I needed a plumber for my new vanity and sink. They attached the pipe and made sure the vanity was stable. Additionally the technician took time to clean the area when the job was completed. This kind and quality of service is rare. I would use this service again.and again.

Rebecca was very responsive to our request for an estimate to upgrade our panel. She scheduled Mr. Friday, an experienced electrician who had previously wired up our 220v kiln in the garage. Had a great consultation with Mr. Friday who thoroughly explained panel technical details. After discussing what we had been thinking with Mr. Friday, he determined we did not need to upgrade our panel and the work we are contemplating can be supported with our current panel with plenty of circuits to spare. He was very thoughtful and patiently explained electrical requirements to us in a manner we could understand. It was great talk with this professional and we will definitely be calling Beacon for any future electrical requirements. A great team to work with.

Update /8/28/2026
Called Beacon again to install and hardwire low voltage under shelf lighting that came with floating shelves we were installing. Spoke with Rebecca again and she was friendly and helpful as always, really very easy to work with - funny and cheerful. She arranged for Bryce to come out the same day. Bryce was professional and well spoken. We discussed the work and he had great ideas to improve the installation that I had been thinking about. We agreed on the work, he provided an estimate and once I agreed he got right to work. He set up the work area, laid out protective measures and worked diligently to accomplish the work. It was a pleasure to work with him. In summary, another outstanding Beacon experience - all accomplished on the day I called.

I’ll be coming to Beacon again. Great service and people.

The technician, Nelson Mota, did a great job replacing the electrical outlet. He was courteous and friendly, arrived on time, and quickly found the problem and fixed it. I couldn't ask for better service!

I just had a GREAT experience with Beacon. Maurice G and Devin E came out to quote me on a lot of electrical work, including a new panel and charging port. They genuinely felt like trustworthy guys, so we initiated about 4 days of work. I couldn't be happier with the level of detail and service the guys provided. Please, if you need work done, consider Beacon and more importantly, ask for Maurice and Devin. The panel itself looks like a work of art!

Update 8/26/26
Just added a Halo filtration system along with a reverse osmosis faucet to my house. John Katsiotis did the consulting, selling and the installation. I couldn’t be happier with the level of service and care. I think a lot of us are worried about our water right now and I’m feeling very comfortable knowing I had these installed. John K is so knowledgeable when it comes to water so please, take his advice.

Zak is incredibly professional and the best plumbing technician we gave dealt with and we have tried so many through the years. Mary was incredibly professional and an excellent communicator making sure everything was arranged and we always knew the status. We required services more than one day and everything was handled well and cleaned up spotlessly. Zak is intelligent, thorough and explains everything well.

Best plumbing service and believe me we have tried many. Highly recommend. In fact I have not done reviews of others as they were not at this level.
