Mary, the dispatcher on day of was very easy to work with and very responsive. Once Gabriel came, he waited while I ran to the store to get the detectors he suggested (so nice of him)! They were installed in a jiffy and reasonable price - thanks, Beacon!

The office staff were very friendly and responsive, keeping me informed on their arrival time and workload which initially required them to postpone my non-emergency repair. I appreciate the plumber quickly identified and solved my leak issue but I was expecting him to put back all the boxes and items that he removed from my closet to access the bathroom tub faucet. He left without addressing that and it would have been helpful had he used a vacuum to clean up the fine dust in the kitchen after cutting the drywall to diagnose the problem. He was very pleasant but I was disappointed these clean up items were not addressed, especially after paying nearly $750 for the repairs.

Maurice and Devon did great work at my home! From the quote to the work, it was a great experience. Very thorough and transparent with work and cost. They upgraded my electric panel and installed a plug for my electric car charger! Everything seems to be working and running smoothly so far.

We had a basement (25-year-old) sump pump that was continuously running and eventually shutdown. We also discovered a pin-hole water pipe leak that was spraying water over the immediate surroundings in the basement. We chose Beacon Home Services because of the strong Google, BBB and Angi (listing) ratings. Scheduling and status notifications via phone/email/text communications were very professional and timely. Our technician, Wayne Gaither, was able to quickly diagnose our pump and pipe issues and recommended two service options. Wayne removed the old pump, cleaned out the pump well and was able to install a new pump with a more efficient water extraction pipe configuration. He also verified that our overall water pressure was fine and neatly replaced the leaky pipe section. We would definitely consider re-contracting with Beacon for any future plumbing needs. (Jan 2026) We reached out again to Beacon based on our previous successful plumbing service call. As part of our kitchen sink faucet setup, we had a 25-year old, dual-outlet, dual-shutoff (hot water) valve that was starting to leak water into the surrounding undersink cabinet area. - Mary (dispatch team) was very prompt and detailed in coordinating our appointment via text and email messages. - Our service technician (Andrew Pratt) arrived at the start of the service window. He was able to quickly diagnose and install a more modern replacement value while simplifying the configuration by eliminating an extraneous copper pipe fitting. - Both Mary and Andrew were very professional and affable during our interactions and we would definitely consider Beacon again.

We can’t say enough good things about this company and Shawn Ansari, the technician who worked with us. Beacon dispatched a tech quickly when we had a burning smell and power outage, which was stressful especially in the aftermath of a snow storm, but Shawn came to our home and immediately put us at ease. He was extremely friendly, respectful, and took the time to explain what was going on. He quickly identified the problem, fixed it on the spot, and also provided helpful long-term solutions for a separate issue with our breaker. His professionalism and expertise really stood out. We would absolutely use him again and highly recommend him to anyone needing a solid handyman.

I hade a leak in my bath tube faucet at the worst time . Schedule on line and Wayne showed up as soon as the weather was safe . Fixed both bath tub faucets . He is very knowledgeable and trustworthy of his Kraft. Mary called me to confirm my appointment and let me know they will get this fixed up . Everyone was very nice even though I was very anxious. Hernain Martinez completed a 3-day residential electrical project at our home, including installing a new meter base, upgrading components to meet 2026 electrical code standards, and installing new smoke detectors throughout the house. His work was top-notch, and he was professional, patient, communicative, and friendly the entire time. He clearly explained the work and made the whole process stress-free. I also want to recognize Rebecca in Beacon’s office for her responsiveness and professionalism—communication and scheduling were seamless. If you’re looking for residential electrical work in Northern Virginia or the DMV area, I highly recommend Beacon Services, Hernain Martinez, and their entire team.

I first used Beacon Home Services 2 years ago when I got a quote from another company that seemed too high. I was really happy with the work, professionalism, and the price point of a small electrical job that I then rehired them for a much larger electrical job right away. Yesterday I called them to see if they would be available for a plumbing project to get ahead of a large winter storm and not only were they available but Mary was very helpful in accommodating my schedule preferences. The technician, Jonathan was very polite, was quick to understand the issues I wanted addressed, gave me various options and explained them thoroughly. He worked quickly and cleanly and I’m very happy with the work. I will definitely be contacting them again for any future work I need completed.

I am editing my review because the company really turned it around. Originally, I booked a day in advance for some urgent electrical work and scheduled an appointment. The appointment was confirmed, and I was told my appointment was marked as a priority given the urgent nature of the issue. I specifically said that I would need to hire another company if they couldn't do the work on the day of the appointment. I was told that it wouldn't be a problem and they would be able to handle the appointment on the day booked. However, on the day of the appointment, I was told the electrician would be a little later than originally anticipated. Later in the afternoon, however - too late to find a same day replacement appointment with another company - Beacon texted me to ask to reschedule for an appointment 3 days later because they could no longer accommodate my appointment that day. When I raised the issue of the company's promise that the appointment would happen on the day I booked it, I was told the appointment could not be accommodated and I should provide backup dates. I canceled the appointment. However, a couple of hours later, Beacon called to let me know that an electrician freed up and the company could send him to my house, so I agreed. That's where things turned around. They sent Shawn, and he really changed my opinion of the company. He showed up when he said he would, was extremely professional the entire time, identified the issue, showed me the risks, gave me multiple options, and helped me decide which option to choose. Once I selected an option, he made the repair quickly, efficiently, and professionally, and cleaned up the area before he left. While it started out as a rough day, Shawn really saved it for the company.

We also just recently had our hot water heater and pressure reducing valve replaced by David, and he did a fantastic job! He was very communicative and helpful. He worked hard to get the job done and get it done right—he made sure everything was up to code and safe for us! We highly recommend David for your hot water heater needs! Just today, Milton Iraheta came to our home to fix a broken outlet. He was courteous, helpful, informative, and very professional. He and his partner fixed our outlet in no time and offered us several estimates for other electrical repairs we need to make down the road. He was transparent with me and informed me of several different options. Milton’s expertise helped put me at ease that the work is safe and up to code. I highly recommend Milton for any electrical needs !

We needed a three way switch put in a master bedroom and a separate switch for the ceiling fan/light. We also had issues with outlets not working. The thermostatic control for my in-floor electric heating system (installed many years ago by a different firm) stopped working. The original control is no longer available, so I ordered the closest match (different manufacturer) online. Even before Mr. Friday removed the old control, he noted that the new one was designed for a different-size box. He re-engineered the mount using the old thermostat’s faceplate to accommodate the new thermostat, connected the wiring, and voila—I have a working thermostat—and warm floors— without tearing up the drywall for a new box. In addition, when he heard that my gas furnace was not kicking in, he knew to check whether I had completely closed the filter compartment door, which hits the switch to restart the system after service—homeowner error was the problem. I also have to commend Rebecca and Kimberly, the office staff who handled my calls for service and my questions about arrival times and follow up. It’s great when one is stressed about a problem to get upbeat, friendly, patient voices on the line.

Kevin Mendoza with Beacon Home Services provided fantastic service with an electric meter box repair and reinstall on our residence. He coordinated with Dominion, was timely, efficient and the work was accomplished in half the time estimated. Beacon’s estimate also came in best over three other area companies. This estimate was also honest and addressing the real issue, not a complete replacement, which was quoted thousands higher by other companies. Really appreciated Kevin’s coordination and communication and project management on this project. Highly recommend for electrical service needs.

We had 4 different estimates for repair work and Beacon was not only the most reasonable but provided the most clear and honest presentation of what the work involved and a realistic aggressive timeline that allowed us to meet our needs. Kevin is knowledgeable and was very clear about what was possible and the timeline.

We recently contacted Beacon for an electrical service call to diagnose and fix why light switches in several rooms around the house stopped working after an electrical outage. Rebecca delivered excellent service coordinating the appointment, and Mr. Friday did great work. Turned out it was an easy fix, but I will definitely called Beacon the next time we need electrical work done.

I needed to replace an outdoors GFI outlet and fix an outdoors post lamp. I also ended up getting a panel power surge protector. Beacon coming through again with a winner! My service provider Mike showed up on time and prepared. Professionally thorough in his communication as well as active listening when I had something to say. Effective communicator and curious problem solver. Breaks things down in layman's terms and asks questions. In my particular case I had a sink water line break in my child's upstairs bathroom suddenly and soaked all of my sheetrock and started dripping down into my dining area. After shutting my main water off and calling beacon on a Sunday they assured me they could have someone out 8:00 in the morning on Monday. I drained the water in the now ever increasing bubble in my ceiling preventing a collapse ... The next morning Mike showed up on time and ready to get after it. He gave me the courtesy of giving him a tour into the damaged areas listened intently as I described the steps taken and past history of the house and was patient. After showing him the upstairs it was confirmed the sink water line had burst and my suspicions were validated. Mike quickly got to work downstairs in the dining area exposing the pipes and eliminating the wet sheet rock, to which and he solved an unexpected future problem, significant corrosion on the paralleled ran copper lines and quoted me line removal drywall removal and water inspection check. Received a detailed report no more than 10 minutes after he had finished and walked me through his work. Could not have been happier with the service or the willingness to provide unfiltered information. Honesty is key when owning a house and dealing with services of upkeep. Beacon is 3-peat service provider in my household, which was built 38 years ago.

Kelvin was super knowledgeable about the breaker box and what i had. He said I should not install it without upgrading the service... just not safe. Michael came out for an annual plumbing inspection.and was terrific! I highly recommend these inspections. He was very thorough and explained everything he was doing. He noticed small issues that are easily fixed that could lead to big expensive problems if not addressed in a timely manner. He also shut off the water to my outside faucets so the pipes won’t freeze during the winter months, something I forgot to do. He gave me estimates on all of the work, helped me to prioritize what should be done now and what can wait, and informed me about Beacon’s new financing options if I want to spread out the payments. He was very knowledgeable about plumbing and different options for addressing concerns and replacing parts and equipment. As a “lighthouse member “, I receive a free annual plumbing inspection and electrical inspection, and it is well worth it. Thank you Beacon!

Gabriel replaced my dining room chandelier and installed an appropriate outlet near my washing machine. He was friendly and professional.

Gabriel was professional and confident. The fire department was at our house the night before and said all alarms had green lights and seemed fine. ( Our problem was ALL the alarms were going off about 4x a day) Gabriel found 3 alarms with no green lights , replaced them and we have had no problem since.

I scheduled installation of a light fixture in my basement. The old one was broken and had been improperly installed previously. Mr. Friday quickly assessed the need for better installation and suggested that the fixture should be moved slightly to optimize the lighting. The work was professionally completed and done quickly. The customer service at Beacon is unparalleled. We are so grateful for the communication throughout our power outage. Rebecca kept us informed about our appointment. And John, our assigned electrician was right on time and notified us that he was on his way. John troubleshooted our power outage and the root cause. He is very skilled and knowledgeable. This was probably the nicest experience I’ve ever had with a situation like this. Bryce was highly skilled and knowledgeable and walked me through all the options clearly and helpfully. I never felt pressured to buy something or have extra work done—I just got a clear picture of exactly what was really needed. He was the perfect mix of professional and friendly, and honestly just a joy to work with. This was a relatively small issue, but in the future I’m going to need a lot of electrical work done and I won’t be going anywhere else!

I I wish I could give 10 stars. I think we make mistakes sometimes if we say that one company or another company is superior. All I know is that Shawn, and his apprentice Nathan, reinforce my belief in humanity. Incredibly meticulous, sensible, thorough, as well as being a delightful person to replace virtually every kind of electricity in this house starting with all the circuit boards downstairs. He then went through the whole house, turning things up and down, well I guess on and off is a better way of saying it To make sure that absolutely every segment of the house was functioning. It’s important to tell you that the electricity and the circuit boards were put into my house in 1964 and that they hadn’t been upgraded since. Shawn got it right away. Upgraded everything to 200. You have no idea how much a relief this is and how kind and patient the Beacon home services . Run not walk to this company. I’m filled with peace of mine right now. Thank you, Shawn!!

Matt came out to the house and cleaned up after another companys poor job. What impressed me than anything was that he was able to fix it quickly and my pipes no longer moved under the sink and there was no longer a leak. This is the 3rd time i have used Beacon and they are the only plumber and electricians i will use in the future. Call them u wont be sorry.

Mr. Gaithersburg is an experienced and skilled plumber. Knew just what to do and accomplished work skillfully and swiftly. Both he and office coordinator Mary were also responsive, pleasant and easy to work with. How was price? Hard to judge as got no other quotes. Job required replacing three water line valves and one outdoor spigot. Not expensive parts? The approx three hour job ran $2200 including 10% veteran's discount.

Shawn A. provided great service. He gave us a few options with varying prices. He was friendly with great customer service. Additionally, Rebecca kept me updated on my service window which was helpful for my husband and I.

Simple light switch replacement became hard due to older house and I needed some backup. Beacon sent Bryce out who was incredibly professional, honest, diligent, and great with kids who ask a lot of questions! I would recommend Beacon—but I would recommend Bryce even more.

Technician, Kelvin, worked hard to locate a battery for my device and I appreciate his hard work. He gave me good advice on two other issues regarding light fixtures. Also, Rebecca was very patient and helpful in scheduling and working on getting the work completed.

We had a technician come to address issues found during our recent home inspection. Kelvin was professional and polite and was able to provide us with an explanation of our situation and provide us with a quote for repairs during the visit. He installed 2 gfci outlets in our kitchen and did an excellent job. During the scheduling of the appointment, I spoke with Mary. She was very helpful and asked us questions to qualify our visit for the appropriate service. Overall, I am very pleased with the service received.

Wayne has been our technician for two jobs- went above and beyond in good service and extra efforts to troubleshoot issues left behind by a previous DIY owner. Mary and the scheduling staff were pleasant and efficient in helping us synchronize work needed before other contractors arrived.

Rebecca was excellent with constant communication to keep me in the loop of when my tech was arriving. Christian did a great job replacing a couple outlets and making sure I had no hazards. I needed an electrician to come to my house to take care of this because two outlets were burned out and had melted plastic, and I needed a professional to make sure that I didn’t have a bigger problem and had no risk of a fire. Christian was the man for the job. Very nice guy. We had lots of great conversation while he was here. I highly recommend.

My water heater broke, I called Beacon Home Services, they sent somebody out that morning, who replaced my water heaters and cleaned up the water that had leaked. The plumber is very nice and kept me informed throughout the installation!

Mary answered my call yesterday, and arranged for Jonathan, one of their techs, to come today. He arrived on time and assessed our problem (no hot water). He offered 3 alternatives and helped me with the decision. We opted for a new replacement unit by the same manufacturer as the original, because it lasted almost 30 years. Jonathan had the new unit delivered, and he completed the installation-all today. The installation was neat and tidy, and he left the area spotless! Very professional! I would use them again!

They gave me valuable information in regard to the systems in my house and what I might need done in the near future. They also gave me estimates for possible future work. John was on time, polite, knowledgeable and successfully diagnosed the problem. He made several options and recommendations and explained the pros and cons of each. I ended up choosing his recommended replacement toilet (instead of the one I thought I was going to buy) and I am very happy with the service I received. John replaced my old toilet with a brand new Gerber brand toilet. He came out with an estimate the first day and completely replaced my toilet and the emergency water shut off valve the very next morning. His work was clean and impeccable making sure everything was done properly. Scheduling was easy and Beacon Home Services were excellent with communication and dispatching. They called to let me know both times when the technician was on the way. I will definitely be using them for additional work and will request that it be performed by John.
